Chinese phone maker Huawei has been teasing its upcoming phones Honor Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro for a long time. The company is planning to launch these devices on 16 October in London. Now the big news is that Honor is going to launch a gaming device along with the Honor Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro. The company dubbed it as Honor Mate 20X. It will be another addition in the Mate series and is expected to feature a powerful processor and massive battery thanks to its large display.
Huawei has posted a video teaser on its official Twitter account and hinted a gaming device with a large display, big battery, and vast memory. This step by Honor can be a game changer amid huge demand for gaming devices. In the tweet, Honor said, “In the heat of battle, stay cool with #HUAWEIMate20X. 16.10.18 #HigherIntelligence #UltimatePerformance.”
As Honor is launching Mate 20X in the gaming segment, it is likely to have a 7.21-inch OLED screen and could feature a 2240 x 1080 screen resolution. The Mate 20X could be powered by Kirin 980 processor which is Huawei’s latest 7-nm processor. It is expected to be paired with 6 GB/8 GB RAM. Additionally, this handset will also provide support for Huawei’s GPU Turbo Technology and massive internal memory.
The teaser revealed that the company is worked on a cooling system for the phone during gaming operations that will allow the CPU and GPU to run at their default frequencies without throttle and users can get smooth performance with high graphics.
The Mate 20X will come with other Mate siblings Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro which are currently the most talked about smartphones. The Mate 20 Pro will feature a triple camera setup at the rear and has a water-drop notch on-display which will be present on the front camera.
We will have to wait till 16 October for other details but a super gaming phone from Honor may just be round the corner.
